Lodge Haifa was an innovative Lodge. In its heyday the Lodge boasted excellent attendances at open Lodge meetings, strong activity in social and sporting fields and a waiting list of new members. The past members of the Lodge can reflect back on times both turbulent and triumphant that have helped to mould the "Personality" of Lodge Haifa.
Early in 1984 Lodge Haifa, under the experienced leadership of Brethren Jeff Rosen and Harris Klaff, commenced in similar vein. The infusion of new blood onto management and executive is paying dividends in enthusiasm and effort. Social and sporting activities are bounding along, reaping chavershaft all the way to make Lodge Haifa one of the finest Lodges in the 80th year of the Hebrew Order of David.
These have been the Lodge's achievements during the 80th anniversary year of the Order" A fish braai. a motor rally, outings for families initiated 18 new brethren, assisted 9 persons in obtaining employment, 12 social events the highlight being the disco dinner where 200 attended, numerous community service projects, celebrated 100th meeting with an attendance of 77%.
Naming of the Lodge
Haifa is the third-largest city in Israel – after Jerusalem and Tel Aviv – with a population of 283,640 in 2018. The city of Haifa forms part of the Haifa metropolitan area, the second- or third-most populous metropolitan area in Israel.
